Arisha making Masks

Junior Arisha Sundhar is an avid participant in Bears to Share and has been a club member since sophomore year. Although she originally joined the club because of the prospective volunteer hours, she grew to love the club and what it stands for.

“It was quite fun honing my sewing skills and making a plushie a child can have fun with,” Sundhar says. She not only enjoyed making stuffed bears for children in hospitals, but was also a dedicated mask maker during the pandemic.

“I continued to work for this club in making face masks because I wanted to make sure that all hospitals or essential workers can stay safe in this dangerous time,” she mentions. Sundhar genuinely finds happiness in helping others, being it helping children or healthcare workers.

Not only does this club offer her a creative outlet to improve her sewing skills and gain volunteer experience, but it also provides Sundhar the chance to aid people who deserve the chance to stay safe while they help those in a critical state, even through a simple, heartfelt mask.
